Band History |
| |
Once upon a time, in the early 2000's there was a 5pc chicago rock/alt-country/hillbilly-swag band called the Flat Mean Tires. They had an interesting 2 year run before a firey implosion took effect. During that time, they supported acts such as Bobby Bare Jr., The Blasters, Dick Dale and Front of Truck and could be regularly caught at Chicago's Hideout and the Beat Kitchen. After the mind-numbing implosion, two of the Flat Mean Tires found themselves crawling from the rubble, a bit scarred but still hungry for the power of rock music. Chris Mcinnis & Mark Grzelak continued to talk about re-structuring the band & firing down some fresh jams. With the concrete-solid addition of Dan Postalwait on the bass guitar and a perplexing revolving door of faces behind the drum kit, the group reformed under the moniker JAVELINAS.
What say you about these Javelinas? Well, take about 30% of the alt-country-isms of the Flat Mean Tires days and blend them with some old-school rock in the vein of the Amboy Dukes & Rockpile (they've been told they're slightly reminiscent of early Stooges as well), throw that in a blender with some great personal tales of twenty sumpthin' detroit livin' as well as other vivid subject matter pertaining to just livin'... fill the air with infectious riffage & accentuated accents and there you have it... Javelinas.
